Shomporko Desk: Confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Bangladesh rose to 44 as the country on Thursday recorded five more infections. And four more patients recovered from the deadly virus, taking the total recovery to 11. The Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) director Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora made the disclosure today through the online live briefing.”Samples of 126 more people were tested in the last 24 hours and among them, five tested positive for coronavirus,” Flora said.
Flora also said one of the newly affected people came from abroad, three were infected with the virus after coming in a contact with already infected, and efforts to collect information about the rest one. All the fresh patients are male, and ages of two are between 30-40, two in their 41-50s, the IEDCR official said, adding that no new deaths were reported.
