Shomporko Desk: Renowned Dominican fashion designer Jenny Polanco has died in the Dominican Republic from complications due to COVID-19.
She was one of at least six people and the first public figure to die from COVID-19 in the Dominican Republic. The cases of infected in the Dominican Republic has risen to 581 as of March 27th, 2020.
Polanco, who was born in 1958, according to several news reports, she had told local media about a week ago that she had tested positive for the virus after visiting Spain, which has the second-highest COVID-19 death toll.
