The Bangladesh government takes great consideration of around 7,000 Rohingya orphans who have taken asylum at Ukhia and Teknaf camps in Cox’s Bazar.
The Rohingya Child Protection Program was dispatched at 32 Rohingya camps under the Ministry of Social Welfare.
With the help of UNICEF, the orphans are being dealt with, said Mohammad Al-Amin Jalali, Alternative Focal Point and Social Service Officer of the program.
He said in the wake of gathering data, inspecting the data of 30,743 children, an aggregate of 7,054 orphans were recorded in 32 camps.
Other than orphans, around 1,500 incapacitated, desperate, defenceless and children experiencing different maladies were likewise recorded under the program.
Among them, 839 are incapacitated and 181 children whose mother or father are crippled. Everybody of the recorded children gets Tk 2,000 every month, Al-Amin said.
