Bangladeshi academic Professor Saidur Rahman has been included in this year’s list of Highly Cited Researchers from Clarivate.
A release issued by Lancaster University on Wednesday, said four of its academic have been included in the list for their research works. They are Nick Graham, Jess Chua, Steve Long and Saidur Rahman.
It said Professor Saidur Rahman is a Professor of Energy Technology at Lancaster’s Department of Engineering and also Professor of Nanomaterials and Energy Technology at Sunway University, Malaysia.
His work includes research into nanomaterials for renewable energy within Lancaster’s Energy Research Group. He has published more than 500 journal papers, a majority in top-ranking journals. Since his appointment to Lancaster, he has published nearly 60 journal articles, proceedings papers, book chapters and reviews with a Lancaster affiliation.
He promotes collaborative links between Lancaster and Sunway and has worked with Lancaster’s Chemical Engineering and Energy Research Groups in applying for Malaysian Government and Newton Fund research grants in the areas of MXene nanofluids and concentrated solar power.
He is ranked 49 in the field of Mechanical engineering and 50 in the field of energy among the global scientists published by the Mendeley database.
Our Malaysia correspondent added: Prof Saidur Rahman has expressed his willingness to share his experience with Bangladeshi students, academics and researchers and to use his intellect in the country’s development activities.
“I’m ready to share my experience with my country’s students, academics and researchers to take Bangladesh to new heights in the globe through working unitedly,” he added.
“Energy is one of the key components in the current world and wheel-power of development. There is no alternative to produce maximum energy with minimum investment and research on sustainable development and its application,” said the researcher.
He also laid emphasis on research cooperation among Bangladeshi universities and holding online research seminar for the country’s researchers.
