“There have been over 766,103 cases of COVID-19 in Canada, including 19,664 deaths and just over 57,000 active cases. Canada continues to monitor for virus variants of concern. Staying connected with friends, family, and community is important for our mental health,” says the Chief Public Health Officer on January 29, 2021.
She further says that “Bell Let’s Talk Day” was held to encourage people to talk and to find ways to stay connected. There are also additional tips on staying connected and on self-guided programs and resources on the Wellness Together Canada portal to improve mental well-being.
“It is said that less than 1% of the population has ever run a marathon, but now we are all part of the COVIid-19 marathon – one of the biggest collective efforts in Canada and worldwide,” Lisa MacPherson, the spokesperson for Bell Let’s Talk Day calls for everyone to “keep working together and giving our best effort” to prevent further spreading the virus.
