Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines is on track to achieve its aims. By the end of March Pfizer and Moderna have committed themselves to send their 6 million doses. The mass vaccination campaign will increase in the months ahead. As Health Canada approves it, additional vaccine candidates will be available, Trudeau said. The office of the Prime Minister clarified, as previously stated, that the prime minister misplaced AstraZeneca by the end of June would send all 20 million of its promises.
It says that, as health officers approve, the government plans to make additional vaccine applicants available. The campaign was riddled with delays and is scheduled to take place in mid-February before shots take place at the ready rate, says Trudeau. Between approval and the end of September, there will be 20 million AstraZeneca doses. Following approval of the vaccine, the delivery time for these doses shall be confirmed. “I hear it from all Canadians right now… They want to know when they can go back to everything they’ve done before,” says Trudeau.
Bloc Quebecois leader Yves-Francois Blanchet says that the economy is hit every day that Canada does not receive as many vaccines as it was once planned. Blanchet stated in a parliament hill press conference on Friday “Restoring confidence depends on the ability of this government to get the vaccines delivered according to a precise plan,” “I know how tired we all are. I know how anxious we are to see our loved ones safe, to see life returning to normal,” Trudeau says. He says, “We feel it too.
