NASA’s most revolutionary rover landing on Mars today has a tight schedule for the next few year’s. Becoming the very first helicopter to fly on another planet in the search for signs of ancient life and finding the first recordings of sound on the red planet.
If all does not go well, Perseverance will land on Mars around 3:55 p.m. ET.
Perseverance is NASA’S first mission that will search for ancient life on another planet. When the Perseverance reaches Mars, it will have traveled 292.5 miles on its voyage from Earth. The rover that has been traveling through space since launching from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at the end of July, will travel and explore Jezero Crater, the site of an ancient lake which existed 3.9 billion years ago in search for microfossils in the rocks and soil.
They will also conduct an experiment to fly a helicopter, called, ingenuity to land on another planet for the very first time.
