The 5th Bangladesh Festival was celebrated with cordial participation of thousands
Of expatriates at Toronto International Pavillion on April 20.
Bangla Mail, the post most read weekly newspaper, organized the show, which was inaugurated by High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Canada Mizanur Rahman.
Consular General of Toronto Naim Uddin, publisher of Bangla Mail Rewzaul Karim, president of the editorial body of Bangla Mail Abdul Hamid Miya, editor of Bangla Mail Shahidul Islam Mintu , managing director Yousuff Sheikh , managing director of Albion Building Consultant Inc Jamal Hossain, noted language hero Lion Shamsul Huda, among others, were also present at the program. Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, M.P and Toronto City Counselor Brad Bradford were also present as special guests.
Noted artists from Bangladesh set fire on the stage through their performance. Eminent playback singer Andrew Kishore, evergreen actor Azizul Hakim, noted actress Richi enthralled the audience through their presentations from afternoon till midnight.
Andrew presented his super hit numbers and kept a strong grip on the audience for hours. Azizul Hakim and Richi Solayman acted in comedy drama Lottery, which was directed by Jinnat Hakim.
Apart from the gala event, a Meet and Greet event was held on the next day at Kasturi Restaurant and Banquet Hall in Toronto. A raffle draw was held at the event and the winner receives Toronto-Dhaka-Toronto air ticket sponsored by the Turkish Airlines.
