Ontario will decide today on public health measures regarding the three remaining COVID-19 hotspots which are Toronto, Peel and North Bay.
The government extended the stay-at-home orders in these regions, due to a high virus case count.
As for the rest of the province, restrictions were loosened last month as regions moved back into the government’s color-coded pandemic response framework.
Toronto and Peel’s top doctors suggest that the highest level of public health restrictions take effect on Monday. They are requesting for the lockdown zone of the framework, which will allow for more business to open with restrictions.
Due to the presence of more infectious variants and positivity rates, Ontario’s chief medical officer says that reopening must be cautious.
