Three Hamilton city employees were put on paid leave after allegedly administrating more than a dozen COVID-19 vaccine doses to those not in the priority group at a mobile clinic held on Friday.
According to Hamilton Public Health Services, the allegations were reported by another employee there and is currently under investigation.
Reported by the health unit in a release, about 15 doses were allegedly and inappropriately administrated.
“The city is committed to ensuring that COVID-19 vaccines are administered in a way that is fair, equitable and based on criteria that prioritizes those that are most in need”, stated Dr. Elizabeth Richardson, Hamilton’s medical officer of health.
“Any action designed to circumvent the vaccine’s program eligibility criteria are unethical and unacceptable”.
As of Thursday, there have been a total of 41, 369 doses administrated.
