During the COVID-19 crisis, the Canadian government is committed to assisting women entrepreneurs. The government will continue to assist female entrepreneurs at every turn. Increasing women’s economic participation could boost Canada’s GDP by $150 billion.
The government is also putting an extra $15 million into the WES Ecosystem Fund to help women entrepreneurs who are suffering as a result of the pandemic.
The first-ever Women Entrepreneurship Strategy is a nearly $5 billion cross-government initiative aimed at improving women-owned businesses’ access to financing, talent, networks, and expertise in order to help them succeed. At the Feminist Response and Recovery Summit, the Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister for Women, Gender Equality, and Rural Economic Development, spoke.
