If Ontario is forced to return to lockdown, Premier Doug Ford says it will be “absolutely terrible.” Ford made the remarks at a new mass vaccination clinic in Toronto on Tuesday. “I can’t stress this enough, please. We have to be cautious,” Ford said, adding that the province’s third wave of COVID-19 concerns him 24/7.
Ford also said he needs to keep a close eye on the COVID-19 daily case numbers in Ontario ” which have increased over the past few weeks, “like a hawk.” The test positivity rate in Ontario has risen for the sixth day in a row, rising from 5.7 per cent to 5.8 per cent. Since March 18, the number has been increasing.
According to the health official, 32,556 tests were processed in the last 24 hours, up 4% from the day before. Health officials reported 1,546 new infections on Tuesday, down from over 1,600 the previous four days.
