The new B.1.1.7.variant, discovered in the United Kingdom, represents a decrease from the previous two days when nearly 4,000 variant cases were identified.
According to officials, the positivity rate in Ontario is now 8%, with over 65,500 tests processed in the last 24 hours. The increase in hospitalizations has been blamed on super contagious strains, health experts say. There have been 95 cases of the B.1.351 variant and 191 cases of the P.1.variant discovered.
