After a 33-year-old man was fatally shot at his house in North York on Thursday afternoon, Toronto police have charged a suspect with second-degree murder.
At around 3:20 p.m. on Feb. 17, police were alerted to a shooting at a home on Connaught Avenue, near Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West.
Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside the house, according to authorities. Officers attempted to resuscitate the individual, but he died on the scene.
He has since been identified as 33-year-old Bryson Kyle Murle of Toronto.
Another man was taken into custody at the scene in connection with the deadly shooting and a weapon was recovered.
Police said Friday that 44-year-old Spiros Tsakopoulos of Toronto has now been charged with second-degree murder.
He was supposed to appear in court on Friday morning.
So yet, police have not revealed anything about the victim’s relationship with the suspect or the suspected motive.
Insp. Kathlin Seremetkovski told reporters outside the home on Thursday that the shooting was “an isolated occurrence.”
Anyone with additional information regarding the homicide is asked to contact police.
