Bangladesh Pothomela, which is one of the biggest Bangladeshi events in Canada, and one of the biggest in North America. The Pothomela has recently been held in Scarborough with attendance of thousands of Bangladeshi Canadians. Celebrated singers including Agun and Baby Naznin rocked this year’s festival, which saw record breaking attendance of people from the Bangladeshi and other communities.
Apart from music, artists of Nritoo kola Kendra performed various dance recitals. An art competition with the theme “Bangladesh” was also held as part of the festival.
Bill Blair, organized crime reduction and border security minister, attended the festival where Salma Zahid MP, Doly Begum MPP, councilor Gray Crawford and councilor Brad Bradflord delivered speeches. The event had Kohinoor Islam Tanbir, Gazi Belayet Hussain, Mustafizur Rahman Jewel as convener, chairman and chief coordinator respectively. \
