CBC will air Nadim Iqbal’s acclaimed documentary Mother Tongue at 7pm on September 21.
The channel will air the
show as part of its project Absolutely Canadian, which showcases award-winning
short films and documentary programs created by in-house and independent local
producers, as well as
student filmmakers from Ryerson University and Sheridan College, informed
CBC.ca.
The winner of seven film festivals and holder of 42 international recognitions, Mother Tongue is a short documentary filmed in Canada in 2016. The film follows a writer/poet who risked his life to save his culture, his heritage and his language.
