Ban-Can or Bangladesh Canada Youth Organization kicked off its journey on May 20 in Toronto.
The organization is going to be an association for Bangladeshi youths in Toronto, and will work for the
betterment of the community.
It will work to enhance unity, fellow feeling and cooperation among the Bangladeshi expatriate youths in
Canada.
Shariful Hoque, a noted social activist based in Toronto, was elected as the president of Ban Can.
“Canada is teeming with Bangladeshi youths and they are representatives of Bangladesh in Canada,
therefore, if they are united and committed, Bangladesh will have a better image in Canada, and that is
why, we have formed Ban Can”, Hoque told Shomporko.
Tanjim Shohag, Khalid Saifullah, Bablo Chowdhury, Azim Uddin, and Sohel Rana have also been selected
as the vice-president, director, general secretary, finance secretary and organizational secretary of the
organization.
