Shomporko Desk:– The Province of Ontario is now actively recruiting healthcare workers, including retired and internationally educated professionals in the fight against coronavirus, in an attempt to boost frontline capacity at hospitals, clinics and assessment centres.
A new online portal called Health Workforce Matching Portal will help match health care professionals including students and volunteers with suitable experience with potential employers. The new recruits will assist in various different public health functions, such as case and contact management.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Premier Doug Ford called the move a “call to action” to provide “reinforcements” for frontline health workers in the province.“Whether you’re retired or in training, we can’t afford to have people with professional healthcare skills who want to help sitting on the sidelines during this crisis,” he said
