Today, Hamilton enters the most stringent grey-lockdown phase of Ontario’s pandemic response plan. The Eastern Ontario Health Unit has entered the second most serious red zone.
Today, at Canada’s Wonderland in York Region, a drive-thru vaccination station opens. Last night, the government lowered the minimum age for vaccine eligibility from 75 to 70 in ten more public health units. York Region residents aged 70 and up can now make appointments through the provincial system.
Toronto is also dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks, which have forced three schools to close due to public health concerns. For the time being, the city is also transferring students from Brian Public School and Victoria Village Public to online learning.
