A man was stabbed multiple times on a York Region Transit bus and was rushed to the hospital via emergency run on Monday afternoon.
At around 1:15 p.m., two suspects were at a bus stop near Yonge Street and Royal Orchard Boulevard in Thornhill when the bus arrived.
Police have not confirmed how quickly the stabbing occurred after the suspects boarded the bus, but the vehicle was parked outside the same shelter on Tuesday afternoon, implying that it never left the area.
According to police, the suspects are believed to have fled the scene on foot.
At one point police did set up a perimeter to search for the suspects but ultimately called off the search.
The male victim remains in hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
On Monday afternoon the bus remained on scene as forensics officers searched for evidence inside. Blood was also visible on the ground near the middle set of doors.
