Following this month’s Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada 2021 Virtual Convention, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion, and International Trade, spoke with Arifin Tasrif, Indonesia’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.
The ministers discussed cooperation between Canada and Indonesia in areas such as mining, oil, gas and clean energy, particularly in light of the country’s economic recovery.
Ministers Ng and Tasrid spoke about Canada’s upcoming virtual business delegation of mining companies, as well as Canada’s sponsorship of the Indonesia Underground Mining Conference and Exhibition later this month.
Ministers Ng and Tasrif discussed how Canadian clean energy companies’ innovative solutions and technologies could help Indonesia achieve its goal of decarbonizing its economy. Strengthening international trade, generating growth, creating jobs, and supporting the middle class were also highlighted.
