On Friday, the Ontario Ministry of Health issued a statement urging residents to stay in their own areas. The AstraZeneca vaccine is only available in limited quantities in some pharmacies in Toronto, Windsor, and Kingston.
According to the province, it is working with pharmacies to ensure that everyone who qualifies for the vaccine receives one. The province says it will continue to increase vaccine availability in all public health unit regions as supply grows.
The vaccine is for people who are 60 to 64 years old and are eligible for the AstraZeneca vaccine. As supply increases, the provincial government says it will expand the program to other regions.
