The convicted murderer and revolutionary music producer Phil Spector is dying at 81. State prison officials in California said he died in a hospital Saturday of natural causes.
In 2003, Spector was convicted at his mansion of murdering actress Lana Clarkson. In the foyer of Spector’s mansion, Clarkson, the star of Barbarian Queen and other B-movies, was found shot to death.
The song most played on radio and television in the 20th century has been tallied as You’ve Lost That Lovin ‘Feeling. Among others, the Beatles, George Harrison and Lennon were produced by Spector. Spector’s music’s volume and violence reflected a dark side that he could barely contain.
