Tanushree Dutta has come out in support of actress-filmmaker Kangana Ranaut’s latest release ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’. In a letter, the former Bollywood actress congratulated Kangana on the success of her latest film, saying, “This Damsel has truly made it all the way despite all the distress; leaving the frat boys club of Bollywood and their dames twiddling their thumbs in abject contempt for her success”, reports TNN.
This note came after the National Award winning actress alleged that members of the Bollywood industry had ganged up against her since she brought up the nepotism debate. Recent reports have the actress hitting out at Alia Bhatt for, not honouring her invite to watch her periodical film saying, ‘there was no response from anyone.’ In the wake of the heated exchange of words being published in tabloids, Tanushree stepped up with a powerful note giving Kangana full credit for being the “only one who made it to the top of her game in Bollywood without the nagging support and recommendation of A- list male stars, without a high profile surname or an unrealistically perfect, pure and pious façade.” Tanushree, who is not one to shy away from speaking her mind and going up against the oppressive patriarchy system within the industry, explained the industry’s silence in her moment of triumph was only because they couldn’t understand how she made it this far without them.
