After testing positive with COVID-19 today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claims he is feeling OK and has no symptoms.
Since Thursday, Trudeau has been in isolation after one of his children tested positive for the illness.
Today, he claims that another of his three children is suffering from the condition.
He spoke to Canadians digitally since he and his family had been isolated because to COVID-19 and the continuing protest procession around Parliament Hill.
He says he will continue to work remotely all week, including plans to virtually address the House of Commons tonight about the situation in Ukraine.
Trudeau says the challenge his family is facing is known very well by many families around the world.
“It’s aggravating that the fight against COVID-19 is still consuming so many aspects of our lives after two years,” he said. “We’re all affected by this infection.”
He reiterated his call for all Canadians to get vaccinated.
Trudeau is completely vaccinated and received his booster vaccine in early January at a nearby Ottawa drugstore.
Members of Parliament returned to the House of Commons on Monday for the first time since the winter recess.
