In a nighttime shooting at a bar in Oshawa, Ontario, police report that two individuals were murdered and three others were injured.
According to Durham Regional Police, the incident took place at the BLVD restaurant and bar at 1812 Simcoe Street North on Saturday at at 12:45 a.m.
Following reports of gunfire, police were called to the scene. Five individuals had gunshot wounds when they got on the scene, they discovered.
Police said one male was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A second male was transported to a Toronto Trauma Centre in critical condition and he too died due to his injuries.
The three remaining victims were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and were released.
Police said they are speaking with witnesses, and plan to provide a suspect description when one becomes available.
Durham Region’s homicide unit is currently investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses with video or information to come forward.
