Today’s corporate world has become more competitive than before. University students will need all the tools to prepare themselves to face this competition and become successful. The corporate world is also becoming very demanding in their choice of talent hunt. We understand that.
INDUSITY = (Industry + University) is a customized term of a bridging tool between university and industry to make higher education effective.
In Canada we (our universities) can introduce the concept of INDUSITY to make higher education very effective. This win-win project can be part of an agreement signed between Industry and University to collaborate on R&D, in line with Industry Marketing plans such as to develop innovative packaging in its various product lines.
“In order to tap” their (students) creativity and encourage them to come up with as many ideas as possible, we did not place any restrictions on their designs (More than prize money). The students generally value their first experience working with a “real client”. Compared to their usual class projects, they can do much extensive research on practical issues such as their target audience, type of material used, cost and marketing.
Research based feedback from the students revealed that they would have preferred to concentrate their efforts on one design rather than spread themselves too thin on more designs. In “real life situations”, the students need to propose several options to their clients within a short time frame. And despite the hard work, the students had great fun designing something that children can to eat and play with as well as collect and share with their friends and siblings.
With the concept of Industry within University, we can easily say that having a strong foundation in industry gives the University the edge when it comes to working closely with the private sector. The university can be a part of a communications group that handles both government and industry projects.
The university may able to achieve what others can only dream about. It will create a task force of academic and industry collaboration where industry is able to conduct research and development minus the exorbitant costs of hiring professionals. The collaboration enables students to participate in projects + work with industry professionals to output work that is used by industry to promote company’s products and services.
The University can be involved to the Canada Branding and to establish National Creativity & Innovation Center. Through the collaboration the university is able to work with industry in unparalleled ways in product and service innovation.
This unique collaboration with industry may be extended to government with the intention of building national competitiveness and the country’s global reputation through innovative projects and effective branding.
Other Advantages’ of INDUSITY:
Helping industry innovate
Helping students build winning portfolios
Helping the country build global competitiveness At last the INDUSITY program is indeed an advantage for students of any university. Apart from their learning experience in the classroom, the students also obtain hands-on experience of the real world which is the key to unlock the job market at present time.
