Sinthia Hoque:-Beyoncé releases a mashup of some of her iconic songs in order to honour and to pay tribute to Lyric Chanel, a young fan who died of brain cancer.
On March 5th Beyoncé shared a video to YouTube titled “Rest In Peace Lyric Chanel”, which is composed of three of Beyoncé iconic hits “Brown Skin Girl”, “Halo”, and “Love On Top”. It features photos and videos of Lyric, who passed away at just 13 years old after fighting a long battle with anaplastic ependymoma.
Lyric, who had a special place in her heart for the song “Love On Top”, shared a video of herself singing the song in September of last year.
The video had moved and inspired Beyoncé so deeply, that she sent her flowers and a heartfelt note in which she quoted the beginning of her song, “Honey, Honey I can see the stars all the way from here, I can feel the sun from whenever you’re near”, continuing the note she wrote, “I was so moved to see how these lyrics inspired you, not really as much as you inspired me. I can’t wait to meet you one day and I’m so happy you’re home safely. You’re a survivor. God bless, B.”
In October, Beyoncé surprised Lyric again by sending her a box of clothes from her clothing line, Ivy Park. After which the young fan took to Instagram and wrote, “just got back from getting Chemo and look at the surprise that was waiting. I love you so much ### you are my Yoncé”.
