Former Degrassi actor, Jahmil French dies at age 29

Sinthia Hoque:- Actor Jahmil French, best known as Dave Turner in Degrassi, dies at merely 29 years old.

French’s death was confirmed by his friends and co-workers via social media on March 2nd however, the causes of his death are still unknown as not many details have been provided yet.

Joshua Safran, a producer who worked with French on Netflix’s Soundtrack tweeted, “I can confirm my good friend, co-worker, and all around inspiration, Jahmil French, Passed away yesterday”.

The late actor was awarded a Canadian Screen Award nomination for his role in Degrassi, known as a Canadian teen drama.

 He has also appeared in a series of major productions such as The Divide, At First Light, and Boost.

His last photo posted to Instagram on January, 18th was a selfie , captioned with a smiley emoji.

Along with fans and friends who have since been flooding the comment sections with heartfelt messages, his co-workers have also been mourning the loss of such a talented actor and a bright soul.

Annie Frank, a co-star of French in Degrassi, also shared a tribute to her friend. Sharing on Instagram she wrote, “Heartbroken over the loss of our friend Jahmil French”.

“We started on Degrassi the same year and I’ll never forget the day I met him. Jahmil was so full of energy and absolute joy to be around”.

“He was such a special person and I’m so grateful for the memories we made. I still can’t believe it. Gone way too soon. He will be so missed by us all”.
