Nenshi says lifting Alberta’s remaining COVID-19 health orders is the ‘height of insanity’

Shomporko Online News Desk: The removal of almost all of Alberta’s remaining COVID-19 public health orders, according to Calgary’s mayor, is the “peak of absurdity.”

Contact tracers will no longer notify close contacts of those who test positive for COVID-19, and they will no longer be legally compelled to isolate.

The province is also ending asymptomatic testing.

It’s unfathomable, according to Mayor Naheed Nenshi, that the statement would be made at the same time as the number of cases has nearly tripled in recent weeks.

He claims that the decision jeopardizes Albertans’ health.

Even the most ardent anti-maskers, according to Nenshi, would oppose permitting those with COVID-19 to go out in public.
