Over 30,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in Quebec for the first time

Sinthia Hoque:- Quebec administered over 30,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses in a single day and the province also reported zero deaths in the past 24 hours.

According to the province’s Saturday’s report, 31,527 vaccines have been administered bringing Quebec’s total to 681,487, which is about 8 per cent of the population.

Quebec also reported 11 deaths to the total caused from the novel coronavirus, however none were within the past 24 hours. It is the first time since September 11th where no deaths were reported in a single day.

The province reported seven deaths between March 6th and March 11th, and four before March 6th.

Since the pandemic began, Quebec had a total of 10,535 COVID-19 related deaths.

According to Quebec’s report on Saturday, 789 more people have tested positive for COVID-19. Since the pandemic began, Quebec has a total of 296,918 COVID-19 positive cases and 279,230 of those positive cases are reported to have recovered, 741 more than on Friday.

The seven day average for daily cases is 715 per day.

According to the Quebec Institute of Public Health, the number of active COVID-19 cases has rose by 25 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 7,153.

The province rose by one for hospitalizations on Saturday, with currently 551 people receiving care for COVID-19 in Quebec hospitals. With the same number as it was on Friday, 106 of those people are in intensive care wards.

Quebec health-care professionals analyzed 26,975 samples on March 11th.
