Madaripur Correspondent: With the intensification of the month of Ashar, the flood situation in the country is becoming dire as well as the river erosion turning to appalling conditions day by day. Shahadat Hossain Munna, vice chairman of the human rights organization ‘Srishti’, has come forward to help the flood victims already during these appalling circumstances.

He provided foodstuff as a relief to more than 200 families in the flood-hit areas of Sannyasir Char, Barkha’s Bandar and Madbarchar in Shibchar Upazila of Madaripur district recently. The foodstuffs include 10 kg of rice, 1 litre of oil, 1 kg of pulses and water purification tablets for each family. When asked, Shahadat Hossain Munna said “In this terrible situation of Corona pandemic in the country, the flood has hit some districts with terrible form.

On the one hand, there is the fight with Coronavirus disease, and the other is a terrible situation like a flood with river erosion. During such a disaster, a new struggle for human survival has occurred. It is not possible for the government or anyone alone to deal with this disaster for their help. I would like to request the rich people of the society to come forward to help the poor and helpless people along with the government. Then, we will be able to overcome all our famines and stand high in the world as a successful state.”
