Sinthia Hoque:-After 6 and a half long years of marriage, the famous and widely known couple Kim Kardashian, 40 and Kanye West, 43 have decided to split up. According to Representatives for the Los Angeles Superior Court and for Kardashian, she had filed for divorce on Friday and her case is being represented by prominent divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.
Kardashian who had been widely known as a reality TV star on Keeping Up With The Kardashian, a multi-Grammy winner as well a businesswoman and West as a hip hop star and a fashion icon had tied the knot in 2014, a year after Kardashian’s divorce from the former NBA player Kris Humphries. Their grand wedding had taken place in Florence, Italy in the year 2014. Though this celebrity union had been most followed and talk of the 21st century; fans are not at all too shocked to see the marriage end as according to “TODAY” show reported in January, the couple had been living apart for quite some time now and the lack of appearances of West in KUWTK and in public.
It seems that they have likely been going through some issues due to the vast differences in their personalities. Disclosed by Kardashian over the summer, the couple had been going through issues with West’s bipolar disorder and reportedly he had also called out Kardashian’s family in a series of tweets in one of which he had called her mother Kris Jenner a tyrant however the tweets have now been deleted. In Kardashian’s statement and in a post on Instagram she had asked her fans to have some compassion for West as he deals with his mental health, stating “As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand. I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health. Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behaviour know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgemental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try”. Kardashian and West, parents of North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm have decided on joint custody of their children as well as a prenuptial agreement.
