Sinthia Hoque:-Charles Polevich, 70, was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the hit and run accident involving Robert Maraj; according to Nassau Police authorities, he was walking along Mineola on Long Island and was hit by a car at 6:15 on Friday.

Polevich had been charged with leaving the scene of an incident and tampering with evidence in connection to Robert Maraj’s hit and run accident. Also according to the Nassau County Police Detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick in a news conference, “He was absolutely aware of what happened to”. Reportedly he had walked out of the car and asked Maraj if he is okay, however instead of calling 911  and helping Maraj out he simply left and fled the scene. “He got out of the car and he looked at the deceased, got into his car, and made the conscious decision to leave instead of dialling 911, instead of calling an ambulance for the man”, Fitzpatrick said. “He went home and secluded the vehicle. He’s well aware of what happened.
